There must be a reason for rejection. What’s the opinions of the reviewers for rejecting my article? Is it not satisfying the public's interest? I sent a letter to inquire, but received no reply. It is inexplicable.

All reviewers’ comments returned on December 9th. It was rejected on December 10th. They raised several questions, all of whom were entangled in the structure. My first paper that has been accepted by an SCI journal, so I’d like to share my experience: Submitted on June 23. On June 24 the status changed to awaiting referee reports. August 2, the status changed to Awaiting AE recommendation. On August 15, I received the comments from the first round of review. A total of 2 referees, 8 questions, and the editor gave moderate revision and two weeks to respond. August 28, submitted the revised manuscript and response letter. Sent to review again on August 30. On September 13, the status changed to Awaiting AE recommendation. On September 18, I received the comments from the second round of review: provisionally accepted. On the same day, officially accepted. Nearly three months from submission to acceptance. Overall this is quite efficient. Reviewers' comments are positive, and the editor is very nice. The journal also has a high impact factor and is on a hot topic, 2D materials. I recommend submitting here.

I have been checking information on the website before. Today, I have come to fulfill my vow and accumulate good karma. This time, the review process for the 2DM manuscript was quick.

Submitted on August 30th.
Results came out on September 20th, requiring major revisions.
Revised manuscript was returned on September 28th.
Results came out on October 7th, requiring moderate revisions. In reality, there was only one issue, and it was resolved on the same day.
Accepted on October 9th.

Update on article progress: Submitted on March 10th and received reviewer comments on May 12th. Quite speechless. The first reviewer said it could be accepted after revisions, while the second reviewer asked a few simple questions about the articles but did not mention any need for revisions. However, the editor rejected it directly and suggested submitting to nanotechnology. The journal seems to have a double-blind peer review mechanism, and it feels like they have a high self-positioning. The editor is very cautious in accepting articles, but it seems that the impact factor does not meet their standards.

Submitted on March 10th, it took about a few days for the 1st reviewer to agree to report. I thought I would receive news soon, but after one or two weeks, it changed back to "searching reviewer". After two weeks, it changed back to "1st reviewer agreed to report". It is now April 27th and it is still "1st reviewer agreed to report". I don't know when there will be results. I am in a hurry to graduate with my thesis, but I didn't expect this journal to be so slow.

After being drafted by nanotechnology, the editor suggested to switch to 2D materials, but because it is a new journal, there is no influence factor at the time, so the boss does not recommend taking 2D materials and submiting in PCCP.I did not expect the 2D materials impact factor to be so high.
