It is my first time to submit article to Physical Review series, and it is accepted. I feel very lucky to be valued by the editor and reviewers of Physical Review. My work is related to the application of theory. At the beginning, the article was submitted to Physical Review B. Because it was slightly partial to application, the editor suggested transferring to Physical Review Applied, which was relatively high-scored journal in physics. Generally speaking, the processing speed of manuscripts was not fast, maybe it was the common phenomenon during the pandemic period. The thoughtfulness of the editor left me a good impression on me. We were noticed that we should pay attention to details such as the format of the references before submission. There were two reviewers in the first review, and Referee A expressed his appreciate and raised three minor comments. According to two of the comments, I realized that maybe the description in our article was not friendly to the readers who were not in the field; The comments of Referee B was also nice, but they were also rigorous. A lot of detailed comments were raised, and major revision was required. 10 days later, we sent the response letter. And two weeks later, it was accepted after revision according to the comments of Referee B. Generally speaking, the experience is not bad, and I will submit again if there is a chance.

Submitted on September 27, reviewed and revised on October 26. Two reviewers raised ten minor issues. Reviewer 1 asked several questions of interest, suggested acceptance after responses. Reviewer 2 raised some micro-mechanisms, which we believed were not relevant to the content of the paper. We answered by combining literature and recommendations were made to answer the Editor's questions seriously. As a result, we spent one or two months specifically conducting literature research, replying and revising the paper in detail. After submission, the paper was immediately accepted. Although it took longer this time, the efficiency was overall high. APS reviewers tend to ask very detailed physical questions, which are common across journals. I am in the field of optics. In terms of optics, it seems unlikely for PRap to return to the first quartile. There is a significant difference between PRap and other top-tier journals such as NC, PRL, Light, and Optica. Furthermore, there are an increasing number of domestic journals that have taken up some of the spots in the first quartile, making it difficult for PRap to squeeze in.

In addition, in my field, the quality of PRap is comparable to that of Optics Letters (OL), which is classified as a second quartile journal.
