I submitted a review on molecular mechanisms, and the process was very fast. It took 33 days from submission to acceptance, and it was published 20 days later. There was one revision in between, and the revision system allowed me to communicate directly with the reviewers in a real-time updated dialogue box. However, the impact factor dropped too quickly. It was over 6 when I submitted it, but only slightly over 4 when it was accepted. The publication fee was also very expensive, even after applying for a partial waiver, it still cost 20,000.

The editor found 2 reviewers, one for minor revisions and one for major revisions. They raised questions about supplementary experiments and gave 2 weeks to revise + respond to the reviewers' comments. No additional experiments were conducted, only responses to the comments of the two reviewers. Both reviewers directly endorsed the revisions. Overall, most of the reviewers' comments were quite balanced. The only downside is that the publication fee is too expensive. Only the raw sequencing data was submitted as required by the journal, and the editorial department did not request the raw data from molecular experiments (WB, IF, qPCR, etc.).
