It is a very prestigious magazine with the highest impact factor in the field of pediatrics, but it should still benefit from the brand of JAMA, and it is also a very old pediatric magazine.
I have submitted several articles and three have been published. On average, I can receive the rejection or external review results in 3 days, with the quickest time being 3.5 hours. The external review period is generally between 1-2 months, and there is usually news within 1 week after revisions, and it takes about 1-3 months after acceptance to be published.
However, what is frustrating is that two articles received very good external review results, but were asked to be revised as Letters, which was very difficult. However, it is worth it to leave a mark in such a prestigious magazine, so I eventually made the changes and they were accepted immediately after the revisions
