Submitted in June, and we were given the decision of major revision after one and a half months. After we submitted the revised manuscript, the comments of two reviewers were returned one month later. Both reviewers recommended acceptance, but then the editor had several comments. We revised again, and the paper was accepted after one month. ASCE is still very difficult. We had submitted several manuscripts but only had this one accepted.

Journals under ASCE have good reputation and industry recognition, but the publication process is relatively slow after acceptance. From my personal experience, the review process is very detailed. It took 3 and a half months to revise after the first review, with one reviewer providing almost 50 comments (including grammar issues) and requesting language improvement. After the first revision, there was another round of minor revisions before final acceptance, taking a total of 10 months, with a certain requirement for innovation.
