The journal is pretty good. But it’s a bit slow and intermittent. It took about 10 months from the submission to publication. The main reason was that my research direction was a bit unpopular. Most of the time it cannot be sent for review successfully. The editor's attitude is pretty good.

The process was quite smooth. Here is my submission and revision experience: 2017-05-11: Submission; 2017-06-22: review comments received. Two reviewers, both requested minor revision, and their comments are pertinent and reasonable. 2017-08-23: submitted the revised manuscript. Took this long because of some other commitments. 2017-09-27: accepted. Relative to Chinese journals, I think the reviewer comments are fair and the process was fast. The editor was very nice and patiently answered all my questions.

It's really too slow. At that time, I thought of saving myself some trouble and submitting to an easy-to-get-accepted journal. I didn't expect it to drag on for a whole year, and they even charged a page fee. If I had known earlier, I would have submitted to a journal in the third or fourth district with a faster speed. This journal is garbage, with an impact factor of 1 and yet it is in the second-tier. The Chinese Academy of Sciences is brainless. The behavior of this journal is extremely ugly. The review process has already ended, but they require payment of the review fee before giving any feedback. As soon as the fee is paid, they immediately reject the submission. All the reviewers' comments are positive, yet the rejection is baseless. This journal will eventually go down.

Don't ever invest, this journal is a scam. They keep going back and forth for a month, claiming they need a review fee. Once you send the fee, they directly reject the submission without even reviewing it. The rejection letter is also randomly written, without any logical reasoning.
