My research is on visible light photocatalytic degradation of contaminants. 2017-10-6, submitted; 2017-10-22, received the review comments, four reviewers, one requested minor revision, one requested major revision, and the other two did not make any suggestions. We were given 3 months (Maybe the editor gave us this much time because it looked like the requested experiments would take a long time). We took one and a half months to add new data and revise the paper. Submitted on 2017-12-5. 2017-12-26, the comments came back, three reviewers accepted the paper, but one did not. The editor gave us 30 days to revise the paper. 2018-1-8, resubmitted the revised paper after careful revision, and we had also revised the format according to the requirements of ACS. 2018-1-18, accepted. Overall, ACS is really efficient. Generally, an editor is assigned the day after submission. I wish ACS ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering gets better and better.

The journals under ACS are indeed very professional, with meticulous editing checks. The only downside is that the impact factor is still too low, perhaps because the journal itself does not care much about the impact factor.
