In addition, I don’t agree that domestic journals have a bad reputation abroad. Is it only you who have been abroad? Since domestic journals have a bad reputation. How could Youyou Tu, who publishes the Chinese Science Bulletin, win the Nobel Prize? A real scientist looks at the quality of a work, not the journal the work is published in! A lot of Nobel Prize work have not been published in top journals, but it does not affect everyone's recognition. If your cognition level is still at the level of "articles published in domestic journals are not good", then I have to say that you go abroad for nothing~~ Finally, I think some of your ids still go to black Cell Research... I really want to say something: If you feel that domestic journals are watery, you can publish an article on it and let us see, so as to prove that you really have the ability to despise domestic journals. If you can't publish papers in these national journals that you have degraded to nothing, shut your mouth. It's really shameful to say that grapes are sour if you can't eat grapes...

Are the first few IDs dedicated to blacking domestic journals? You are all blacking a few domestic journals in the comments their sections... Objectively speaking, the level of articles in the initial stage of domestic journals was indeed not high, but in recent years it has developed rapidly and the quality of articles has soared. It is no longer it was to be. If you still wear tainted glasses to look at domestic journals, you will lose the objectiveness that intellectuals should have, and it is really undesirable. I have submitted a manuscript to PC, and it was not accepted. I also studied this journal carefully. The PC was really not as bad as you said. From the first impact factor of 3 points to 5, 6, and 7 points, step by step to today’s 10 points, is this called the operational impact factor??? There are relatively few long papers in the PC, basically 2 long papers /3 letter in an issue. How many articles are there in the first issue of Nature? Aren’t they mostly letters? Why don't you dare to spray? Is 1 review a lot in an issue of PC? Is it too much? What is "3 papers in PC are not as good as 1 JBC"? I dare to guess, how many papers did you published in JBC?

I think PC is a very good journal, why do you want to spoil its fame in the previous message? 3 days after submission, our article was sent for review. It took 10 days for review. 2 days after the return of the review comments, the decision was given. The efficiency was high. There were three reviewers, the comments raised by A and B are generally relatively reliable, and the experiment required to supplement was also reasonable. At that time, only reviewer C was tricky, who required us to supplement variety of materials. Later in the second round, the editor himself wrote some comments, thinking that it was enough for an article to tell a good story. He didn’t let us continue to supplement the experiments according to the comments of reviewer C. There are few Articles in PC, and most of them are letters. We submitted it as an Article for the first time, but it was rejected after review. Later, the experiments were supplemented for a year and the manuscript was resubmitted. After the review, it still didn’t meet the requirements of Article. The editor asked if we accepted it to be published as Letter. We studied the Letters published in PC in the past 3 years, and thought the level was not bad. After two years of master's time, it is enough for me to have a Letter published. I hope that I will work hard to have an Article published in the future! Before submission, I once forwarded some online comments on PC to my boss. The boss said a classic saying: Online hostility often comes from rejection.

Many domestic interest exchange platforms have been downgraded and kicked out of the top tier of journals. It seems that the partition system can't stand the mess of domestic journals. However, the actions taken are still not significant enough. It is still ironic that such rubbish publications are still placed in the top tier

How did the difficulty downstairs come about, which is not so big, could it be that several great works were posted above?

The quality is noticeably improved now, it cannot be judged by early articles~

Domestic journals still have a long way to go. As a Chinese, if you don't support it yourself, how can it develop?

I'm curious how the difficulty level of this submission downstairs came about? It's not impressive to have articles published under such a high level of difficulty.

If I had to choose between JBC and Protein Cell, I would definitely choose JBC. Even though JBC only has a score of five, the quality of the articles surpasses this magazine by a long shot

The quality of the articles is getting higher and the difficulty is also increasing significantly. The workload for publishing articles now is very large, and despite several attempts, none have been accepted for review. The only article accepted from a major journal took over half a year of revisions before acceptance. The reviewers are top experts in the field and raise very professional questions. We hope the magazine will continue to improve

Doesn't publishing in Letters count? Then may I ask, as a natural product researcher, if I discover an important new skeletal compound and publish it in the Organic Letters journal, isn't that the highest recognition for our work? Are you saying it doesn't count? Isn't that a joke? Instead, routine articles with no innovation are considered the norm.

Take a look at the JCR data of these magazines, and it will be clear at a glance (to calculate the impact factor, you need to log in to the subscription-based website of the school). Many domestic magazines manipulate the impact factor, such as increasing the proportion of reviews (which should normally be between 5-10%, but many domestic magazines can reach 60-70%), increasing the proportion of correspondence/brief communications/letters to the editor (these types of articles only increase the total citations of the magazine but do not appear in the denominator of the article count, so it is another major weapon to increase the impact factor, for example, the proportion of correspondence in magazines like Cell Discovery, Protein and Cell, Cellular and Molecular Immunology, Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy can reach 50%). These magazines have a particularly low annual publication volume (research articles), supplemented by a large number of reviews and a large number of correspondence/brief communications/letters to the editor, which skyrocket the impact factor, but their international influence is very small.

Are you kidding? Would anyone submit to this magazine that rejects articles from CNS? Which one of the PNAS, Cell Reports, eLife, and PLOS series is not better than this mediocre magazine? This is a magazine that Chinese people entertain themselves with, what's the use of even having a score of 20? Who doesn't know how easy it is to manipulate impact factors for these low-volume publishing magazines? The quality of the articles is not up to standard, isn't it just bottom-tier?

Actually, there is no need for everyone to argue. This journal and Cell Research are of the same type, and they are among the better domestic journals. The articles are also of good quality, which is very useful for job titles and awards in the country. However, domestic journals have a common problem of inflating their impact factors with letters to the editor. It is necessary to remind everyone that a small number of units have already set regulations that letters (excluding Nature's letters) do not count as articles and cannot be used for promotion or awards. In recent years, the number of letter publications in domestic journals has increased significantly, leading to internal competition, and each unit can only raise assessment standards. I believe that this trend will continue to spread in the future.

My advice to everyone is that if an article is rejected from a CNS subjournal and you don't want to go through the trouble again, you can submit it to this journal. However, it is best not to submit letters to the editor.
