Before submitting the article, I was confident that it would be accepted. The quality of the article was quite good, so I thought it should not be a problem for FC or the frontier of plant science. JAFC might be a bit difficult, but after weighing the level of the journal articles and the publishing volume, I finally chose it. If I had known I would make the top this year, I would have just submitted to FC directly!
Submitted at the end of February, directly modified at desk, with too much text, was it considered a major revision?
The UR came out in March, waited for 4 months, the reviewing period was okay?
In July, the first round of revisions came out, well, minor revisions, clearly positive comments, beautiful article, solid data. My article structure is dual omics, with effective ingredients + metabolic network construction. The completeness of the research is relatively high. Both reviewers didn't have much to say, the article structure remained unchanged, and the data was not questioned. The work to revise took 3 days. But I delayed it by 1 month out of respect.
The desk revision came out in August, a summary figure was simplified, and a sentence was added to the abstract. It took 30 minutes of work, but I delayed it by 3 weeks out of respect.
At the end of September, the acceptance was just announced today.
Overall, this journal covers food, plants, medicine, and biology, making it a small eclectic magazine, so each field is not very specialized. Doing something outstanding will get you accepted. The requirements for innovation are moderate, but personally, I feel that the reviewing period for biomedical articles must be long.
PS: My research focus is on diabetes vascular immune injury, and I submitted this to help my undergraduate teacher's student graduate. Yes, it's my first time, and probably my last time publishing, but it was quite fun

On February 13th, I submitted my paper and it went through two rounds of technical revisions. It wasn't until March 2nd that it was finally assigned a reference number. Looking at the published articles, some had a review process that lasted over a year, while others took 4-5 months. I hope mine will be faster, as I am eagerly awaiting graduation!
