A good journal in the field of rock and soil mechanics. It has been revised and accepted after more than half a year. The Korean journal is still very rigorous and the reviewers were also very responsible. The editor answered any questions patiently, and overall, it is worth submitting to this journal!

Submitted in February this year, and now "reviewers are selected". What does it mean? Have you found the reviewers or you are still looking for them? Does anyone know how long this state will last? Another journal of the same level has already returned news, and that one was even submitted slightly later... I urged it with a letter, and there has still been no news. The manuscript was rejected one week after submission. They mainly read the references and said that it is not an international topic and does not conform to the journal scope.

Review is very slow here. The paper I submitted was actually from a lab member who have already graduated and left the lab. I submitted the manuscript at the end of 2016, and then I didn’t hear anything. I couldn’t check the status on the submission system, so I sent an email to the journal and found out that the journal would regenerate the ID, but the editor did not send notification me by email. The editor sent an email to apologize and gave a new ID and password, and then I saw on the system that it was always looking for a reviewer. The paper was sent to multiple reviewers but they all refused to review. Finally in November or December of 2017, we received the decision (major revision/medium revision) and were given two weeks. I worked with another lab member, a doctoral student, on revising the paper and resubmitted. I thought that the review would be very fast because it was resubmission, but by March 2018, still nothing. And I couldn’t understand the status showing on the system, so I emailed the editor, who replied that they were waiting to hear from the reviewer who requested major revision. So I had to wait. By May, still no news, so I sent another email to the editor and got the same exact reply as before. Fortunately, on May 13, I received the acceptance notice. Therefore, if you need the paper for graduation, do not send to this journal. It is really too slow. Only those who can afford to wait can submit here.

I invited 5 people, and generally if the next line shows "one reviewer agreed", it means someone has agreed. Otherwise, it means the reviewer did not respond or no one agreed to review. If it does not change for more than a month, remind them to add someone. This journal is very slow and will not actively add reviewers for several months.
