My first paper I submitted to AIME. After two months, major revision. There were two reviewers, who gave many comments, a lot of them difficult to answer. The editor at the time was Dong Wang, who was very kind. After the revision, the review took a long time. l then asked the editor. 10 reviewers! OMG! The paper was rejected because one of the reviewers suggested rejected. Then I submitted it to an EI journal and the paper has been accepted.

I waited almost two months for the first review, submitted on December 29th and received the review on February 5th; the second review came back in over 20 days. Overall, the process was relatively fast. However, my first submission was to another journal under SAGE, where it was rejected. They suggested that I submit the paper to ADVANCES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, so I transferred my submission to that journal.

Update on 25-03-08: I sent the third reminder for the manuscript on March 6th, this time I directly contacted the AE's email in a more tactful manner. The recipient has read the email but has not replied to me. Currently, the status of the second review is still "peer review in process." The journal itself is open access, and the first review only required minor revisions. Why do we have to go through a second review? Can't the editor just review it internally? Even if we have to go through a second review, do we have to wait indefinitely? The reviewers have disappeared, it feels like we will be stuck in the "peer review in process" status until the year 5202 or the end of the world. It's really difficult to publish an article, especially in a field like engineering where it's already challenging to write.
