A publication of the British Ecological Society. It is very difficult to publish articles on ecological methods, the review speed is very fast, and they usually give results in 1–2 months. The published articles are all very good works, and they need to have universal meaning for ecological methods, not just the result of a special project. In the past two years, I submitted several articles and one was accepted.

My paper was rejected only 2 days after submission. The reason the journal gave is that it is not of interest to the readers. Previously I’ve submitted to a journal with IF over 5, and that journal  gave detailed suggestions and said that the work was interesting and novel. Obviously, this journal did not even read the paper. I think the journal only publishes papers from a certain group of people or the work has to be exceptional.

MEE is a dreamy magazine, and most of the latest ecological new methods and tools are learned through MEE, so I have always wanted to have my own MEE. From submission to acceptance, it took about 3 months and 17 days, incredibly fast. Submission is anonymous, and in the early stages of submission, Amaia editor patiently emailed me, asking for article attachments and hiding the article's name. The associate editor personally helped revise the grammar. The reviewers were very professional and thorough. Since I developed an R package, the reviewers provided many suggestions for improving the code and the R package, and showed examples of how to modify it, basically reading through our code line by line. Thanks to all the editors and staff at MEE for a very nice submission experience

Initial review lasted for 30 days, with three reviewers who conducted a very careful review and provided numerous specific suggestions. After making the revisions, the manuscript was accepted for external review within two weeks.
