But recently, there are really many articles on ACS Catal that I don’t understand why they can be published. The data size is small and the work is not very innovative. The explanation is also not in place. I feel that some articles published in this journal are more and more gimmicky or advocate a certain concept, but the work is not solid. In comparison, J Catal is at least very solid and there will not be obvious conceptual errors.

It took 47 days for the first review. There were 4 reviewers in total, all of them required major revision. The editor and reviewers were very professional and strict. Because a small number of calculation problems were involved in this article, the editor found three reviewers who specialized in organic work and one reviewer who specialized in calculations, who raised a lot of revision comments. The manuscript was resubmitted after a month of revision. It was sent to 2 reviewers in the second review, one of them accepted it directly, and the other one required minor revision. If your paper is based catalysis and about materials, the reviewers often comment on a lack of molecular-level research. This journal is prefers all kinds of advanced characterization techniques and beautiful figures. After all, the artistic level of ACS is as high as ten floors (sciencedirect is only one floor high in comparison).As long as you prepare the manuscript well and pay attention to all the details, your paper will have a chance being accepted. I hope that ACS CATALYSIS will become better and better and become a new star in the field of catalysis.-------------------------------------------------------------------Initial review 1 month, two reviewers, 4 questions each. One month for the round of review, one accepted and the other had new comments related to our answers to two of the questions. The third round was a litte longer than 20 days, and then our paper was accepted.

Submitted in early September 2024, the internal and editorial review process took about a month before sending it out for external review. By mid-November, approximately 2 months and 10 days later, the first review comments came back. There were three reviewers, two recommended minor revisions, and one maliciously criticized the work. The editor, being responsible, suggested major revisions.

In mid-December, the revised manuscript was resubmitted for the first review. By mid-January 2025, after about a month, the second review comments came in, suggesting minor revisions. A week later, the revised manuscript was resubmitted for the second review, and the next day it was accepted.
