I research in piezoelectric structure control. Two articles have been accepted. This journal is highly recommended. If you are lucky, the review will not exceed two months. Of course, the requirement of the journal is still quite high and it needs to be written well. The first one required a major revision, and then it got accepted directly. The second one is more legendary. One expert rejected it in the first review, and one expert supported it; it was rejected but allowed resubmission. After three months of revision and resubmission, it became editorial decision in only half a month. Then, there was no news. We sent a letter to urge, and they replied that the reviewer’s comments were incomplete. Yesterday, I was notified of a direct acceptance by email. I just realized that it was the reviewer of last round that was making trouble. The reviewer did not give any specific opinion, only said one sentence that we did not answer his question. We responded more than 20 pages, but it was really wordless when encountering such an expert. Fortunately, the editor consulted the experts of the editorial board. Really like this kind of journal that respects the author's efforts, and I will continue to support the journal.

I submitted the manuscript to Nanotechnology on June 27, 2018; I was suggested transferring it to Smart Materials and Structures on July 10, 2018; Major revision was required on September 24, 2018. (There were two reviewers and 19 comments in total.) I replied the review comments on major revision on October 18, 2018. Minor revision was required on November 08, 2018. (The second reviewer required to compare with the previous work, explain the characteristics of the new work, and update the relevant performance comparison.) I replied the review comments on minor revision on November 11, 2018. It was formally accepted on November 26, 2018. The reviewers’ comments were both systematic and detailed, which greatly improved the article. The impact factor has also increased from 2.963 to 3.543, but the impact factor of nanotechnology has been dropping.

Formal accept (9-aug-2017); manuscript revision and resubmitted (22-jul-2017); reject (25-jun-2017); manuscript submitted (7-may-2019). I submitted it, and one and a half month later, one of the two reviewers gave minor revision, the other one rejected it, and the editor rejected it. I redid the experiment and revised it thoroughly for a month. A week later, it was accepted without any revision. The whole process took three months. As long as you make serious revision one by one according to what the editor requested, (it can finally be accepted) the editor is still trustworthy. Loved this journal.

This journal is the premier journal related to smart material structure. My paper was on the application of intelligent structure in vibration control and on some new control methods that have been developed. The first review took about one month. I revised it for the first time in a week’s time. On the sixth day, the system urged me to submit the revised draft. Later, after it was submitted. It took about a week for it to be accepted. Generally, after two rounds, the reviewer’s comments are pretty nice. While the AE seemed a little unsure at the end, the EIC accepted it! The whole process lasted about 3 months, and the impact factor is good! Recommended!
