"Scientific American" (English name: Scientific American, abbreviation: Sci Am) is a popular science magazine in the United States. It was first published on August 28, 1845, initially as a weekly publication and later changed to monthly. It is the longest continuously published magazine in American history and is also the sister publication of the famous "Science" magazine. So far, 151 Nobel laureates have contributed articles to the magazine, and in 2009, four Nobel laureates were among the contributors. As of December 2005, it had a monthly domestic circulation of about 555,000 copies (in the United States) and an international circulation of 90,000 copies.
