The review was very fast. There were 5 reviewers, with 3 major revisions and 2 minor revisions required, and then it got rejected. I don't understand. If you didn't want to accept it, why did you send it for review? Isn't this a waste of 5 reviewers' time? I will never submit to AMC again. (Note: One of the 5 reviewers was familiar to us, and you can see the decisions from other reviewers.) The work I did was submitted to IEEE TLLNS and IEEE Cyb before, and it was rejected after being sent for review. Later, I found that the main idea of my paper was similar to the idea on an IEEE TAC paper, which was an early work of a foreign expert. Although my paper didn’t get accepted, I was relieved because even I had not read that expert’s paper, my idea was surprisingly be coincided with his idea. In the end, I revised it according to the opinions and submitted to AMC in order to guarantee success. If the reviewer suggested that my paper is not highly innovative and not recommended to accept it. I can totally accept it, but the five reviewers agreed to let us revise, how can the deputy editor reject the manuscript based on the five reviewers’ opinions for revision. It felt disgusting. This journal has a bad reputation in applied mathematics. I attended the conference on applied mathematics before, and those attendees had a bad impression on AMC (it publishes valueless papers). But according to my friends who researched into numerical calculations, the journal is pretty good in numerical field.

I haven't submitted papers to this journal before, but my friends warned that this was a low-quality journal. In December last year, I personally participated in the review of one of the papers, and the quality was very low, so I gave negative review comments. The paper was actually published! A simple principle for judging whether it is an excellent journal: look at the annual number of accepted articles. Except for a few large comprehensive journals, such as Tran. AMS, Adv. Math, other mathematics journals with annual volume of more than 200 are generally not great. The annual volume of most good journals in the field of mathematics is less than 150, and especially excellent journals less than 100. The characteristic of valueless journals is the huge number of accepted articles each year, such as JMAA, AML, AMC, etc.

This journal has a serious backlog of manuscripts at the Editorial Office. As a result, the review period is SLOW. I submitted in January 2010… and didn’t receive reviews until June 2012. Throughout that entire time the status was listed as “under review” and the editors never responded to my emails. I’d check with people who have submitted to this journal recently for their experiences prior to submitting your manuscript.

The submission was made in early May of the 24th year, and feedback was received in August. There were four reviewers, and their professional suggestions greatly improved the quality of the manuscript.
