The review speed is fast. In the past two years, the number of publications has decreased, and the quality of manuscripts has improved significantly. The two authors of the manuscript that I reviewed recently for this journal are IEEE Fellow and IEEE Life Fellow, which can be a good signal for the improving. I think PIER will rank Q2 journal soon.

Looking at the number of main journal papers is less than 20 a year, with very high impact factors, covering both hot and unpopular topics in electromagnetic optics. The submission to acceptance process takes over 2 months, and the quality of the review comments is quite good. The sub-journals (B, C, M, Letters) are indexed in EI, and they receive a relatively high number of submissions, so it is speculated that it may be easier to get published there.
