Two days after submission, the reply of the editor was received. There were some errors in the format of the references. It was soon sent for review after the submission of revision, showing that the editor-in-chief Mr. Zhong was responsible for it. I heard that Mr. Zhong is very strict with domestic articles, but fortunately it went smoothly. It was soon sent for review after revising the format, and the result was returned in a month. It was not said whether minor revision or major revision was required. I was given two months for revision. There were three reviewers, who were very responsible. One of the reviewers raised many good suggestions from the wording and method content of the article. And the comments of the other two reviewers were relatively simple, adding up to more than 30. 5 days after submission of revision, it showed in the email that the article was accepted. The editor is very capable. PB focuses on application, the self-citation rate is not high, and the articles published per year are not many. The impact factor is always around 3, it has not upgraded to Q2 since it was included in Q3 in 2015. The quality of the articles is good. I don't know why it has dropped. It took about 4 months from submission to acceptance. The speed of the editor is fast, and I look forward to seeing it be included to Q2 again.

I received the comments in less than a month. It didn’t say whether a major or minor revision was required, but it was a decision requiring revising. One of the reviewers gave 68 small comments (particularly carefully revised the grammar point by point, gave comments, and even helped to revise the references in the last time, was invincible nice)!!! Revision was submitted in 2 weeks, then minor revision was required, and finally it was accepted. It took a total of 3–4 months (I personally feel that it is fast, because the review cycle of the environmental microbiology field is relatively slow). The editor is very nice, basically go to work every day, even in the evenings and weekends. In addition, I am very grateful to Professor Xiaoyao Li (Executive Editor) and Editor-in-Chief Jianjiang Zhong of Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. They were very careful and gave good suggestions. Personally, I feel that PB still a little bit focuses on application and take innovation seriously. Although it is in Q3, I personally feel that this journal is still very popular in China. I have seen many experts who publish in EM AEM had put publication in this journal in their achievements. It is also considered to be the top of Q3 journals. It is expected next year to be categorized in Q2 (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and approaching Q1 of JCR.

The efficiency is very high, and the review was arranged on the second day of submission! The decision of the review was made in a month. The six reviewers gave a lot of pertinent comments and the editor required a major revision! Due to personal circumstances, the revision took two months, and the second review decision was given in 20 days. Four reviewers recommended acceptance. One reviewer recommended a minor revision and one reviewer recommended a major revision. The editor required a major revision again! Revision was sent back in two days. I am waiting for the decision!
