Mechanical brothers in distress. The impact factor (IF) is really too low. If we can't get published in journals like ATE under Elsevier, we can only submit to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Unfortunately, both options are too slow and the IF is ridiculously low. The review process usually takes around five months for journals in the fourth quartile, and it's not guaranteed to even make it to the third quartile in our lifetime.
