However, the editor was too meticulous, with each step requiring an additional two months of waiting in front of the editor. Indeed, the review process is quite slow. It took 9 months for my manuscript to be reviewed, with one being accepted directly and the other requiring major revisions. However, they were all minor issues and no additional experiments were needed. The manuscript was returned for major revisions within 3 days, and after resubmission, it was accepted within 5 days. I did not have to rush or urge for updates during the process (I was a first-year graduate student at that time, so there was no urgency). It is possible to gently remind the editors, as they are still very friendly.
