In terms of the journal itself, it definitely cannot compare to those several Review series journals. However, the influence of the plasma journal itself is limited, so POP can be considered a good journal. Overall, the peer review process is very standard and fast, with three reviewers who are experts in this field. The questions they raise are quite profound and need to be answered well. Submitted on August 19th, major revisions requested on September 22nd, returned on October 20th, minor revisions requested on November 4th, returned on November 16th, and accepted on November 17th.

The impact factor is not high, but it is not a low-quality journal either. There are many high-level relevant references. AIP reviewers have always been fast, and this time it took about 40 days for the review, which was very detailed. There were around 60 comments from two reviewers. After responding to the comments, the paper was accepted. I actually really like AIP's submission system, as it is very clear for each step of the process.

I personally witnessed POP fall from IF 2.5 all the way below 2. Initially, there was only one reviewer, but by the end of 2019, it increased to two, and now three reviewers are standard. The Impact Factor has also been steadily increasing to above 2. Having three reviewers for articles in the third tier may not be cost-effective, but this journal itself is still quite good, and the work done there is also commendable.
