This is an incredible journal, edited by the best experts from European and American in the field, and many of them also provide high-quality manuscripts for it. The article quality is obvious higher than that of Computational Materials Science, but the impact factor has been unable to rise all the time, even can’t exceed 2. This means that if the niche field (material calculation simulation) is not favored by the broad Asian citation market, you are unable to manage the IF easily.

2023-6-6 Two reviewers have returned their review results, one positive and one moderate. The decision made by the editor is that the article is not suitable for publication in this journal and has recommended me to transfer it to PS (also under IOP, so all the review comments have been transferred there). PS has a higher impact factor and is not open access. Now, I will wait patiently for the results.

This is my first research paper, and I feel that this journal has a fast review process and does not have very high requirements for innovation. I was lucky that the journal upgraded to a Tier 3 after my paper was accepted. I wish the journal continued to improve and succeed!

Research rookie, submitted on February 10th, received feedback from three reviewers on April 11th. The first and third reviewers agreed to accept it, while the second reviewer provided 11 suggestions, all minor issues. After making revisions on April 19th, it was resubmitted and on April 22nd, received an acceptance notification. This journal is classified as a third-tier publication in the JCR, with an impact factor of 2.439. This is my first SCI paper, and I am extremely happy. I will continue to work hard and express my gratitude to the editors and reviewers for their hard work. I wish the journal continued success and an increasing impact factor!
