It was originally submitted to the Top journal, but it was rejected and advised transferring to this journal. Major revision was required after submission and review. The questions raised didn’t to the point. There was a reviewer who knew nothing in this field and raised a lot of extremely unprofessional questions, but I answered them one by one. About half a month after resubmission, I was told that the article should be revised again and resubmitted. One of the reviewers accepted it, and one made no comment. The previous layman rejected it and asked many foolish questions. One day later, the editor sent an email to me and said that he would like to change the decision and decided to reject it. It was a rubbish Q3 journal, but it wasted too much time, which made me unhappy. I don’t recommend you to submit to this journal unless what you have done is rubbish. The impact factor of this journal is not high, and the number of articles is not particularly large. It is estimated that it will fall below 3 in a few years.

Manuscript submitted and it was with editor for one month; sent for review and it was under review for one month; then major revision required and two reviewers raised not too many issues. After one week of revision, we returned it back, and it was under review on the same day. Then it was accepted directly after one month of review. The impact factor of this journal has risen to 3.2. It is still worth to submit here.

The editor’s review of my work was very gentle. I reviewed my article and resubmitted it. It was accepted on the same day. They have more manuscripts for elemental analysis and fewer on chromatographic analysis, so the chromatographic aspect is a bit new and easy.

Strongly recommend avoiding editing Parichita Saha, who is an Indian editor filled with arrogance and prejudice towards articles from China. Their work is extremely irresponsible and unprofessional, often forgetting what they have done and requiring authors to remind them multiple times via email. Be sure to steer clear of this individual!

During the submission process, the system was always with editor.
About two weeks after submitting, I contacted Elsevier customer service to inquire about the editor, but they did not provide the information. However, they mentioned that they would contact the editor to expedite the process.

The rejection letter was interesting, as the editor stated, "I regret to inform you that the reviewers recommend against publishing your manuscript, and I must therefore reject it. My comments, and any reviewer comments, are below." However, the subsequent editor and reviewer comments did not include any feedback from the reviewer.

Lastly, I would like to ask if it is possible to choose the editor when submitting to this journal. If anyone is interested in knowing the assigned editor for this submission, please feel free to leave a message.

I wonder if this means that the paper was never actually sent out for review, and it was just the editor's rejection.

I saw this comment before making the decision to submit. I was torn between MJ and MA, thinking it shouldn't be so unlucky. I submitted to MJ, but after three months of being under review with no reviewers, I withdrew the submission and submitted to MA. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!
