How do you all know how many reviewers have been invited? I submitted my paper on June 20th and it was marked as "under review" on June 25th. However, the system status date was changed to July 10th and still under review. What's going on?

Resubmitted on 3.29, reviewed by 3 reviewers, mostly positive feedback but some issues raised. Returned on 5.29.
Resubmitted again, reviewed by 2 reviewers, feedback received on 6.9 from editor to revise and resubmit, only feedback from one reviewer provided, who only raised minor issues with the figures, did not mention rejection.
Decided to change journals but couldn't find a suitable one, so resubmitted on 7.2, accepted on 7.7 without further review, directly accepted.

Last month, I also submitted to this journal and sent it to more than ten reviewers. Two months later, I received feedback from two reviewers suggesting major revisions. It was then rejected by the Italian editor Gerardo Puopolo, who encouraged me to resubmit. After making revisions and resubmitting, the editor sent it to another 11 reviewers. It is currently in under review status.

This journal is fast but a bit strange, I have seen other classmates also being rejected without reasons, so be cautious when submitting to this journal.

The submission was made on January 16th, but I couldn't find any reviewers during this period. It wasn't until recently that I found two reviewers in the past two weeks, and I have responded to their comments. However, a week has passed and the status is still "Required Reviews Completed". Submitted on 25.3.13, sent for review in less than a week, received first review within 30 days, major revisions completed in 20 days, returned 2 days early, sent for second review the same day, accepted 3 days later. From submission to acceptance, it took a total of 2 months. 

When I submitted, it was still in the first tier, but during the review process, it dropped to the second tier, which was a bit disappointing. However, after reading several recent articles published in this journal, most of the work does not seem to match the standards of the first tier, including the one I just submitted (which was a struggle to complete amidst graduation).

Submitted in October, received review comments after two months. One positive and one negative review, requiring major revisions. After revisions, one acceptance and one rejection. The editor sought a third reviewer, who accepted the manuscript. After another round of revisions, the rejected reviewer still rejected the manuscript. A fourth reviewer was sought, who accepted the manuscript. The editor asked the rejected reviewer to reconsider, but they rejected it again without giving a reason. If the editor cannot make a decision, it all depends on the reviewers. Continuously inviting new reviewers only wastes time. If three out of four reviewers accept the manuscript, but the journal still obeys the malicious rejection, it is no wonder the journal falls to a lower ranking.

Dropping to the second tier is better than the previous collapse of not seeing any journals. Many classic first-tier biology journals have dropped to the second tier this year, and now there are very few first-tier journals left.
