Let me talk about my feelings first: It is a very, very, very slow journal. The interval from submission to review was more than a month (and it was slower for some other articles). And then it took more than 2 months for the review (during the period, the time often changed, I thought there were many reviewers). And finally, the review was finished in last month, and I was waiting for the news of acceptance. After waiting for more than a month, there was no news, so I sent a reminder letter in very tactful language. But unexpectedly, the manuscript was rejected directly in three days. After reading the rejection comments given by the editor-in-chief, I really cannot agree. The two reviewers each asked about ten questions, some of which were the requirements for supplementing experiments, revising grammar, and the incorrect words usage was pointed out. And there were some doubts about the views of part of the article. The reason for the rejection was nor given clearly and directly. Regarding such comments, I think it cannot be more normal in the field of research. In scientific research, when you encounter different opinions, you can discuss and modify things. However, this editor editor-in-chief just said: "After summarizing the reviewers' comments, I give you the rejection". I really can't flatter it. At the same time, I also showed the rejection comments to my fellow teachers and fellows. They had the same opinions. At most, it can be counted as major revision. I was really speechless by the editor-in-chief of Molecular & Cellular Proteomics. In the end, let me summarize the experience and lessons: First, for students who are about to graduate, do not submit to this journal. It is extremely slow, which will take at least half a tear, but the result is not guaranteed. Second, the comments of the reviewers are still very pertinent, which were worth referring to. The rejection of my article this time is due to the editor-in-chief (for his unreasonable decision). Alas, reminders are a last resort. For articles being reviewed by other journals, I really don’t want to run into editor-in-chief like the one of Molecular & Cellular Proteomics.

It took 2 months to be accepted. The review time was 15 days, and there was a delay of one month during this time. Three reviewers. The editor required a major revision. Accepted without going through the second review. Thanks to the editor, Shou-Yi Chang. Nice!!! The review period of the journal is very short. I suggest you submit to it. I hope the journal will return to the Q2. It was submitted on July 26th and rejected by the editor on July 28th (Plagiarism check by them and us. The requirement for similarity score is quite strict.) July 30th, re-submitted; August 13th, under review; August 29th, with editor evaluation; August 30th, major revise (One month given for modification time); September 23rd, resubmitted; September 25th, with editor; September 29th, accept; September 30th, proof; September 30th, online.
