A retrospective study, submitted on August 18, 2019, first review comments were received on October 3. Two reviewers. There are many revision suggestions, according to which I revised one by one. I submitted the manuscript on October 28. After about 2 weeks of second review, it was finally accepted. The review speed was still relatively fast.

A cohort study, was submitted on December 20, assigned to editor and sent for review on the 27th. On February 27, I received the first review comments, and was given one month for major revisions. Three reviewers. One recommended minor language revision, one recommended minor revisions of discussion section, and one asked more questions, but the comments were quite pertinent. After I addressed the comments one by one, it was accepted less than one week after the second review. Now the journal has added the status “in review” and the review process is very transparent. The editors whom my manuscript was assigned to, was very efficiently, each process had a response within 1 to 2 days, and there was still no rest during the Christmas holidays. However, some submitters were not very lucky, and their articles were not still sent for review one month after the assignment of editors. The overall review time is highly polarized. At the time of submission on December 20, there were more than 800 numbers in the system, and more than 500 final manuscripts were numbered. Now more than 200 articles are published a year, and the overall acceptance rate after sending for review is close to half. This year's instant impact factor has exceeded 3 points, and the number of manuscripts will definitely increase afterwards.

This journal must be perfect, it's a matter of life and death for me. The major revisions were accepted in just two months, although there was a requirement for a 10% similarity check and proofreading. I only managed to reduce it to 14%, but after explaining the reasons to the editor, it was understandable. I found the cheapest proofreading service that could provide an international proofreading certificate, even though the proofreading quality was only average.

Review speed: 3.0 | Submission hit rate: 25.0 Experience sharing: The editor first returned the submission for polishing, then checked for plagiarism, and after resubmission, found two reviewers, both of whom provided some irrelevant comments. One of them raised a sharp issue, stating that the statistical method was problematic. I responded to the questions point by point, added several references supporting this method and my research, and eventually passed the revision. Although it was successful, the process of submission, review, and revision was very exhausting.

Sharing of experience: rejected twice, hard to say, submitted on 23 April 2024, sent for review on the same day, received feedback in 2 weeks. One reviewer raised many experimental and article-related questions, over a dozen in total, but none were fatal. It was feasible to make improvements by conducting additional experiments and revising the discussion. The feedback was for major revisions. The second reviewer mainly pointed out formatting and language issues, but surprisingly, the feedback was a rejection, requesting revisions and image changes. 
On 2 May 2024, the final decision from the editor was to reject the submission for resubmission with revisions, reduced content, improvements in language, submission of plagiarism and revision certificates, and point-to-point responses to the issues raised. After much hesitation, it took a month to conduct additional experiments, revise, and check for plagiarism. The effort and money spent need not be mentioned. On 8 June 2024, the revised submission was made, and on 9 June 2024, the editor requested the upload of the original, untrimmed WB images. These were uploaded on 11 June 2024, passed the technical review on 12 June 2024, and sent for review on 13 June 2024, with five new reviewers being assigned. 
On 9 July 2024, all feedback was received, with opinions from four reviewers - one positive, two neutral, and one negative. Over 50 points were raised in total. The editor directly rejected the submission. If you are going to reject it, do it decisively. After being dragged through this process for two months and spending money, being rejected at the end, I will definitely not submit again next time. The feedback was not even returned to the original reviewers, making me wonder about the purpose of resubmission and revisions.
