“submitted to journal” lasted for one month, so I urged once and was told that it would be processed soon. It was “with editor” three days later, and then the status lasted for a little more than a month. I wrote another letter to remind the manuscript. It was rejected that night: As we have had trouble moving this manuscript through the review process, we feel that the best thing is to release the manuscript back to you and suggest that you try another journal. Thank Professor Philip N. Owens, who let me feel relief. I won’t submit to this journal again, and I’m tired.

I have some articles published in this journal, but it has never been so slow. The manuscript was submitted in July last year, and major revision was required in one month and a half. The comments of the reviewers were relatively professional, and it was resubmitted after a careful revision. After major revision, and then 2 months after being sent for review, the comments were received, and minor revision was required. There were a few comments, and it was resubmitted after minor revisions. A week after being submitted to journal, it took 2 weeks for “with editor”. And then, it was sent for review again; I urged twice by email. It took 2 months for the review; it took a long time for “required reviews complete”. Finally, the review comments were received, and the reviewers agreed to accept it. The editor asked to revise the format of references and polish the language (I feel that it would be more reasonable to raise these comments of such many revisions in the previous stage, which would also save everyone’s time). The revision was submitted in a week after polishing the language, and it took a long time for “revision submitted to journal”, and there was no more news… Judging from the previous submissions and review of this journal, I feel that the manuscript processing speed of this journal is pretty high. But in the past half a year, the efficiency of processing the manuscripts has dropped significantly. I hope the journal can improve it in time.

I submitted my manuscript to the journal in January. It was with an editor three days later and under review the following day. My paper required major revisions (I had three reviewers; editor Moira Ledger is very nice) and it was revised and back to the journal by late April. After further revisions, it was sent back a third time in late May. It was accepted two days later. This journal cares about the quality of the language, title pages need to be separated, and the abstract also needs to follow the template of the journal.
