It is highly recognized abroad and is comparable to Ecology Letters. Founded in 1860, it is regarded as one of the earliest journals in ecology. It has the extremely high requirements for article’s theory and innovation, and seeks for research results of great significance and wide interest. There are currently less than 20 domestically published articles, which are highly recognized in the field, and its influence is not fully reflected by the impact factor. Editors and reviewers will provide very detailed and professional comments, which are very helpful to the article. The journal also has high requirements for the details of the article, so the article may be repeatedly revised until the requirements are met, and the review turnaround time will be relatively long. Reviewed 2021-05-27 15:11:51 Good journals strive to be concise. In addition, this journal has published many groundbreaking ecological articles. The prestige and reputation of the journal cannot be reflected by the impact factor and the current Chinese Academy of Sciences division. Those who label it as a low-quality journal should probably do their homework. Currently, journals value theoretical research with ecological relevance and do not favor pure theoretical research.
