The American Journal of Botany is the flagship journal for botonists. AJB is an internationally recognized journal, published monthly since 1914, and accepts research about various aspects of plant biology. Despite its low publication volume, the review process is very strict with expert reviewers and editors. After submitting in April of the 23rd year, the manuscript was rejected in October. However, both reviewers and editors were very interested in the research, and invited a resubmission after revisions. Following their suggestions, the revisions involved major changes and some additional analysis. The revised manuscript was resubmitted in November and accepted in February of the 25th year.
