The editor in chief will review the submitted manuscripts for you first, including the format. Such a responsible editor is relatively rare. Then there is the review speed is really fast. I personally feel that the articles on rocks are relatively easy to be accepted by this journal, especially articles about regional comparative work.

The manuscript was submitted at the end of October 2019. The editor-in-chief reviewed first and raised revision comments. It was sent for review in January 2020; Review comments of first review were received in March, and major revision was required; The revised manuscript was submitted in April; Language polishing was requested at the end of June; It was accepted on July 4. In general, the review speed is average, which may also be related to the impact of the pandemic this spring. However, the editor-in-chief and reviewers were very responsible, and the review comments were also very detailed and standard (the problems I wanted to avoid were all pointed out). Although there were many comments, I was very moved. Therefore, you can't do research carelessly at all! This year's impact factor has reached 3.656. Great journal. Submitted in mid-June, revised three times with the editor-in-chief, external review in mid-July, received review comments in mid-September, three review comments, major revisions suggested by the editor, one month for revisions, returned in early October, feedback received in mid-November saying that there were basically no issues, can make further edits during the proof stage, but the editor still sent it back. Returned after four days, accepted the next day, online in 12 days. Truly a pleasant submission experience, the editor was very helpful in making serious revisions before the external review, improving the quality of the manuscript, and the efficiency was also very high. After submission, the article went through an internal review by the editor-in-chief (approximately one week) and an external review by two reviewers (approximately one month). Under the management of Prof. Stern, IGR has become one of the most efficient journals. Submitted on August 5, 2019, I made three revisions with the editor. It underwent external review on October 8th and received the reviewer's comments on December 14th. The revised manuscript was submitted on January 7th, 2020, and accepted on February 22nd. The editor-in-chief, Robert J. Stern, is very kind and responsible. He first examines the paper and provides suggestions, ranging from the structure, content, to figures. His suggestions are very detailed, and the paper is only sent for review after meeting his requirements. The opinions of the three reviewers were also professional. One of them gave a rejection, although the language was impolite, the suggestions were helpful for improving the paper. The revised manuscript was sent back to the reviewers until they had no further comments before accepting it. In general, IGR has taught me a lot and is a trustworthy journal. The only drawback is that the revision time is tight, as only one month was given for major revisions. In the future, if given the opportunity, I will consider this journal again.
