Is TEVC single-blind or double-blind? IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation publishes high-quality archival original papers on evolutionary computation and related areas, including nature-inspired algorithms, population-based methods and optimization where selection and variation are integrated, and hybrid systems combining these paradigms. Purely theoretical papers are considered applications papers that provide general insights into these computational fields.

The articles in this journal undergo peer review according to the requirements specified in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (Sections 8.2.1.C and 8.2.2.A). Each published article is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review process, where the authors do not know the identities of the reviewers but the reviewers know the identities of the authors.
