My manuscript was rejected by SBB and then sent to AEE. One week after I submitted, the status still didn’t change. After another week, I received a reply from the editorial department saying that the repetition rate of the text in the paper exceeded 45%. I don’t really understand as this same paper had passed the technical review of previous journals beforehand (GCB, SBB). I was very angry with this journal and refused to accept their response – completely ridiculous. Later, the article was transferred to a different journal. It was submitted and accepted within less than three months, which was very smooth and efficient. This was basically a blessing in disguise. AEE is a journal with a lower impact factor than PLSO, which is where I got published. Now most research institutions only care about the higher impact journals. All in all, it was an unpleasant experience and I will not be submitting to AEE again in the future. However, these issues could have been due to the staff of the editorial department. I wish everyone else the best in publishing their work – hopefully you have a better experience than me.

I have never had such a terrible submission experience. The editor is Xin Chen from Zhejiang University. After the first submission, it was rejected due to issues with the method description. There were only a few comments provided, two of which were already described in the paper but the editor did not see them. It is obvious that the editor is rejecting the submission just for the sake of rejection. After seeking permission to make modifications and resubmit, it was rejected again with the reason being that it was a previously rejected submission. WTH??? Everyone should be cautious when submitting their work.

The first round of revisions will be completed by the end of June or July, giving about a month. Two new reviewers will then conduct the second round of revisions, which took until November to complete. The revisions were minor and took two weeks. The revised manuscript was submitted a few days ago and is currently with the editor. We are waiting for further instructions.

Currently, the submission records of three articles feel relatively long in terms of time, and it is difficult to find reviewers.

The first article was submitted on July 9th, sent for review on July 14th, and one reviewer agreed to review and returned comments on September 1st-18th. However, as of December 9th, a second reviewer has not been found.

The second article was submitted on July 25th, sent for review on July 29th, underwent major revisions on August 26th, returned for revisions on September 16th. All reviewers disappeared, so new reviewers were invited. Major revisions were done on December 3rd.

The third article was submitted on October 11th, sent for review on the 22nd, and underwent major revisions on December 3rd, relatively smoothly. (It was discovered via email that the second and third articles were edited by the same editor).

Before my paper was submitted for review, the dates with the editor changed once. It seems that as long as the date changes with the editor, the paper can be sent for review.

The top journal in the Agricultural and Forestry Sciences category, the one that rejected my previous submission SBB, has a very high quality. It has been through the process of rejection and resubmission, during which an additional reviewer was added. The overall speed is acceptable. I submitted on 3.21, rejected and resubmitted on 4.3, revised on 4.11, major revision on 5.15, revised on 6.1, and accepted on 7.13.
