I collaborated on a paper with a foreigner, the editor's requirements were very high, the reviewers were very strict, and the review process was very slow. The journal focuses on basic theory and profound ideas, with a high threshold and a somewhat aloof attitude.

The speed is very slow, with three steps of initial check, editor-in-chief check, and domain expert check, before submission for review. The initial check requires uploading data and code, which is also very laborious. Updates will be provided once results are available. As for difficulty, my number in late October is over 200, which can be calculated as around 240 manuscripts per year, with over 40 published, approximately 1/6. Of course, there are not many submissions because the requirements are very high and the impact is significant.
