The manuscript was submitted on December 26, 2019, and the review comments were received on May 1, 2020, and accepted on July 3, which took a little longer time, which may because of epidemic. But it's already pretty good.

My paper was once accepted by the journal. Comments were received until 6 months of the first review later; it was also said in the editor’s reply that reviewers were hard to find (he had changed 2 or 3 reviewers who did not respond or refused review). When there were not so many journals in ecology (by 2010), this was a very good journal with very classic papers (for example, MaxEnt was from here). The quality is now seriously declining, and it is estimated that it has fallen into a vicious circle of failure to improve: IF not high—no good paper source—IF cannot be improved. Comments from a foreign research laboratory partner: If you have an article with a new perspective, new method, and new result, then submit to journals like Ecology Letters. If the perspective is not new, the method is a bit new, and the result is not new, then submit to Ecological Modelling.

It was under review for six months, I urged once in the period, I was told that more than a dozen reviewers rejected the review, one agreed to review it, and the other did not give the feedback. I received the comments from one reviewer after August; the editor looked good and gave it a major revision based on a reviewer's comments. I submitted the revision in one month. Minor revision was given after review, and it was accepted in two days after the revision was submitted. It's really hard to find reviewers for this journal. I have seen people who have experienced the same as me.
