@rengujushi If you stay in a foreign academic circle for a while, you will know that no one will think highly of Cell Research than Cell Reports, not to mention PNAS. The impact factor is not everything. I’m in the United States, and was fortunate enough to submit one to Cell Research, but it was after being rejected by NCB, NAR, and PNAS consecutively. As far as I know, very few laboratories in the United States consider Cell Research as the priority. Generally, it is only considered after it is rejected. The level of the articles published is not bad but not comparable to PNAS. The impact factor still depends on reviews of hot issues and submissions from experts. If you are seeking for a postdoctoral position in United States, Cell Research is less useful than Cell Reports.

As a domestic journal, it's OK to praise it. But in foreign countries, this journal will be considered only if it is rejected by PNAS, Cell Reports, Elife or Embo Reports. As long as the article can be published in Cell Reports, no one will choose this journal. The true level is estimated to be less than half of its actual impact factor.

Very professional editor – I was impressed by how responsive this editor was and how engaged they were in the success of my manuscript. In recent years, the impact factor of CR has increased, and the quality of the research articles has greatly improved. Personally, I feel that the level of research published in CR is equivalent to the articles published in NC, JCI and other related journals. I suspect this journal will continue to improve in upcoming years.
