In mid-January, an email was sent to inquire about the progress and it was mentioned that the reviewers would have results within 14 days.
On February 7, received feedback from two reviewers for major revisions, with a total of 4 comments. All of the comments were related to modifications in the discussion section of the article and some unclear areas that needed to be addressed. The workload is not heavy and the revisions were completed on the same day. Updates will continue to be made in the future.

Submitted on 2/22, received an email on 6/16 informing me that the internal review decision was to reject the submission. It took nearly 4 months to complete the internal review. No reasons were given for the rejection, showing no respect for the authors and inefficiency

I have a question for you: the journal author guidelines say "manuscripts equivalent to 35,000 characters are not subject to any charges," but I see only two options in the submission interface under "publishing options." Choosing CC-BY 4.0-Author's Choice shows an Estimated CHF of 2700, while selecting the subscription model license option shows an Estimated CHF of 1250. So, for journals that do not exceed the character limit, do they still need to pay a publication fee? For those who do not exceed the character limit and do not want to pay a publication fee, which option should they choose? Also, once the paper is accepted, how long does it typically take for it to be published online and for proofs to be provided? Thank you very much

I submitted the entire text for review, and after two reviewers completed their assessment, they suggested major revisions which I accepted. However, when I received the revised manuscript, the entire Method section was moved to the supplementary materials, leaving only a brief logical introduction in the Methods chapter. All the images in the Results section were also moved to the supplementary materials, but the editor had no objections. The editor was quite understanding and approved the changes

The journal is very fast and efficient in handling matters. However, there are also many formatting requirements. A friend is preparing for a job evaluation and we collaborated on a paper for submission.

We spent over a week on writing and conducting a small data experiment. The review process was very fast - we submitted on March 24th, received formatting editing requests within 1 day, and after returning the revised version, it took about 2-3 days for the editor to send it for external review. We received feedback on April 18th. We had to do major revisions and asked for input from two reviewers, whose feedback was quite simple - they requested more discussion. It took until May 10th to complete the revisions and submit them back, and we were informed of acceptance on June 3rd. The formatting editor confirmed on June 7th that it had passed final review. We are now awaiting the online publication.

This journal has quite meticulous formatting requirements, and submissions go through at least one round of formatting editing review before being sent to editors and reviewers.

Additionally, a reminder to check the journal's fee guidelines when submitting. This journal does not charge for submissions below a certain character limit (including spaces and punctuation). Beyond that limit, it is around $400 for every 5000 characters, and adding images and tables to the supplementary materials does not incur additional charges.

Please be mindful of the word count when submitting, as exceeding the limit can be costly
