The total citation count, impact factor, and international ranking of the journal have all shown an upward trend. According to the 2021 SCOPUS citation report, General Psychiatry's CiteScore impact factor for 2020 was 4.5, ranking in the 74th percentile among similar journals. Reviewed 2021-12-08 18:28:48 General Psychiatry (English), originally named Shanghai Psychiatry, was founded in 1959. It is the first professional journal of psychiatry in China and the only English-language journal in the mainland specializing in psychiatric and neuroscientific research on brain diseases. It mainly publishes original research, new research methods, and case reports related to psychiatry and neuroscientific research on brain diseases. Its distinctive columns include biostatistical research on mental disorders, meta-analysis systematic reviews, special forums, and neuroscience research related to mental and psychological health.
