I submitted to a different journal with an impact factor much less than BMC. Oddly enough, that journal suggested that I transfer my submission to BMC Neuroscience due to the innovation of my research. Although the review period is a bit long, the reviewers are professional and the comments are constructive. After addressing the reviewers’ concerns, BMC accepted my article. Although the submission to acceptance cycle took 5 months, my article was quickly prepared for publication (less than 2 weeks).

Hooligan Magazine is very slow. After a major revision, it unexpectedly did not provide feedback to the reviewers, but instead found new reviewers to review it again. It is just like a bottomless pit.

I transferred here based on the recommendation from BMC Neurology, but after 2 months, there has been no response. The status only shows "initial technical check". A month ago, when I inquired about the progress, I was informed that it was still in the normal process. This month, I decided to withdraw the submission myself and requested a refund. So, the lack of response for 2 months is indeed part of the "normal process".

Authors should first conduct retrieval and analysis in SCI and Scopus databases; secondly, carefully read the submission guidelines of the journal they are preparing to submit to, and carefully review the recent issues of the journal and related papers to confirm whether they are compatible with the content of their manuscript

Although the review process was a bit long and the reviewers were very meticulous, my paper was accepted after three revisions. The review and revision process for BMC Neuroscience lasted almost 5 months, but once accepted, it was quickly typeset and published. Experience Sharing: The review cycle of this journal is very long, not suitable for those in urgent need of publication. We submitted our manuscript in May 2012 and it was not accepted until the end of March 2013, after sending 4 reminder emails in between. The final decision process by the editors took over half a year. No additional experiments were requested for the manuscript. This journal has strict requirements for the description of results and statistics, which may be useful for others
