Bioscience is an American journal, focusing on general ecology. The journal is very demanding, and the general review cycle lasts around 2-3 months. Most of the articles published in Bioscience are not experimental studies. Bioscience has a relatively high impact factor, and articles written by well-known scientists in ecology are often published here.

Under review after one month,
Received reviewer comments on November 29th, three reviewers, two minor revisions, one major revision.
Revised on December 2nd.
Under review again on December 20th, two reviewers accepted, one raised another question. Prof. Zeng requested a major revision.
Revised on December 21st, still under review.
After waiting for nearly half a month,
Accepted on January 8th, 2023.
Regardless, the long, long, long wait resulted in acceptance. Thank you to Prof. Zeng for showing mercy.

The old journal from 1964 publishes very few articles each year, with only 3 or 4 Overview Articles in each issue. Many influential experts in the field of ecology have published their work in this journal. The current editor-in-chief is a former president of the Ecological Society of America, and the journal's impact factor for 2021 is 11.687.
