The overall speed was relatively fast, the comments of the reviewers were detailed. There were about 20 comments listed. After receiving the comments, I made some more experiments. One month after submission, the results were returned. There were 2 reviewers and 20 questions in total. The editor required major revision. I revised it for more than one month, nearly two months, and answered each question carefully. There was only one comment of revising the frame of the article, but it was not changed. It was resubmitted, and it took half a month for review. The two reviewers approved it. Here is the review comment, "Significantly improved". The editor-in-chief accepted it. Personal experience: Acta Materialia focuses on the innovation of idea, and prefers very systematic work. The review cycle is short. The main challenge is the first round of review: I have heard that 70% articles are rejected directly and not sent for review. It will be more hopeful if the article has been sent for review.

After seven months my manuscript is still in review and a decision has not been made. One reviewer was positive, but the second one had objections. We presented a defense of our theory to the editor and added more discussion of the literature to support it. The editor is willing to ask the reviewer if he will withdraw his opinion and reconsider.
