After submitting our manuscript, the review cycle (submission through revision post-reviews) took 4.5 months. Plus, the editor-in-chief was interested in our manuscript, which was great because the manuscript was directly accepted versus being sent out for another round of reviews. We’re currently waiting for the proofs.

But reviewers are not paid, so it can't be said that the requirements are too high.
