A very good journal. I major in biomedical engineering. The research involved a lot of animal experiments, and I wrote an article and submitted it here. The first submission was at the end of September, and the review comments were given in about mid-October. The three reviewers were very serious and affirmed the innovativeness of the work, but they also provided a lot of comments, including supplementing data, so the editor rejected it and encouraged resubmitting. It was re-submitted in early December, and at the beginning of January, a major revision was required. One of the two experts accepted it and the other one asked some questions. After a week of revisions, it was re-submitted, then a minor revision was required, and then proofreading was completed. Finally, on January 25, which is the first day of Lunar New Year holiday, it was published. Overall, it was quite good. It should be a great opportunity to be accepted if you reply the reviewers' comments seriously. In addition, the editor is also great and efficient.

A series of twists and turns. Submitted on 7.21, received external review results on 7.31. Three reviewers, with two providing mostly positive feedback and one more negative, but not major issues. Rejection with encouragement to resubmit. Resubmitted on 8.1, received email on 9.4 informing me that the original three reviewers did not continue with the review, and three new reviewers were assigned. Two reviewers gave positive evaluations, and Reviewer 2 raised some professional questions, but none were major issues, resulting in a request for major revision. Revised on 9.15, Reviewer 2 raised another set of questions on 9.18, requiring further revision on 9.19. During this time, the status showed "pending editor decision," and I received an email on 9.25 noon informing me of the final decision.

The first SCI paper was published in three months, which is neither long nor short compared to Chinese journals. However, it is not as fast as the journals under MPI, as mentioned online. The main reason is that Reviewer A took one month to submit the review.
