What I want to say was that the editor and editor-in-chief of this journal are extremely irresponsible. In November 2018, the manuscript was submitted. At the beginning of May this year, I felt that it took a long time to review, so I wrote an inquiry letter asking about the review progress. It was responded quickly and said that it can be completed these days. After more than a month, the status hadn’t changed at all, and there was no news from them. I asked again, and the reply was still very fast that it was with editor-in-chief. But the next day, I received a rejection letter which said the rejection was directly based on the reviewer’s comments. And I checked the reviewer’s comments that there were indeed some corrections, with no major problems, most of which were some writing issues, and some ambiguous symbols in the formula. A major revision and a minor revision were requested by the reviewers. However, it was rejected by the editor! I really could not figure it out. Was the editor offended because I urged him twice? Is it unreasonable for us to know the review process after half a year without any review news? This editor-in-chief of AIME was really badass. He could give any comments what he likes, anyway. I cannot do anything with him! What can I say? The research 7 months ago indeed seemed to have some loopholes by then. But judging from the reviewers’ opinions, this was not a good reason to reject the manuscript. I guess the editor’s basis for comments was this: Reviewer: The subscript in the **** equation was ambiguous, and adopting *** description method was inappropriate. Editor-in-chief: Did you see it? The reviewer said it was inappropriate so I rejected it. What can I say? There was no point in talking it out. I can only share this experience with you, hoping to be a warning to myself that selecting carefully with the journal that I hope to submit in the future, also hoping to be of your help.
