Agree to the 13th floor. But I do not deny the 17th floor. I heard my small mentor said that this journal is actually not well-known abroad. It was unknown when he was studying for a Ph.D. Many of the articles were submitted by experts in China. Although the impact factor is high now, the overall reputation and popularity are still no better than OL. Just like OC and AO, although the impact factors are almost the same (OC was higher than AO for a while...), from the current reputation, AO under OSA is still better than OC. Of course, anyway, it is a local journal in China. Just like the 17th floor said, it must be our own people who started to support it. A couple days ago the chief editor Zhiping Zhou came to our school to give a seminar and later introduced this journal .He said that the articles will first be seen by him and then assigned to editors. At present, there are about 90 submissions per month, and the rejection rate is more than 70%. This year the number of manuscripts has increased (according to the China Optics Association's website in 2018, there are an average of more than 20 articles per issue).The journal editors are from countries all over the world, and editors in China do not account for a large proportion. Reviewers are also well known experts from various countries. Among accepted articles (should be last year's data), contributions from China accounted for 53%. Currently PR ranks ninth among journals in optics, and the impact factor should be above 5 this year. At present, the average review period is about 90 days, and will improve to about 80 days in the future. They will have a new chief editor next year. This is a Q1 journal, so publishing here should be helpful to people’s career. But maybe for some established experts, they don’t want to publish in such a new journal, not to mention that the IF is below10. I hope the journal gets better and better. I had one paper rejected by it and another one accepted, not published yet. Based on my personal submission experience, the reviewers are very professional, and the comments are absolutely technical and pertinent. I hope everyone will submit here, because this is a Chinese journal and we should help make it better.
