Reviewed 2019-11-07 19:24:13 Follow up and report. The manuscript was delayed by Organic Chemistry Frontiers for more than one month without being sent for review; I have just received the acceptance letter from Organic Letters. I am very wickedly guessing that if it is possible that the editor has plagiarized the author's ideas and did the research by his/her own research team, so it was delayed and not be sent for review. The one downstairs should be careful. If it is a highly innovative job, make it published quickly, regardless of whether the journal is good or bad. There was a precedent in the organic circle that there was an expert used the convenience of reviewer to delay the manuscripts, and then the whole group worked hard to do the research and made the article published in advance. Be careful! @Syn. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2019-09-27 06:43:41 In addition, I seriously queried the vision of the editor of the journal. I submitted a review article to the OCF 4 years ago, which was not sent it for review. Later it was published in another important journal of organic chemistry. Being featured on the cover of the journal, it has been cited more than 50 times. When another similar manuscript was completed this year, I will no longer submit it to OCF (otherwise, it would be troublesome to change the template if it is rejected without sending for review), but submit it directly to Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis. It was already published successfully. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2019-09-27 06:43:29 This journal is known as a journal of organic chemistry, but according to recent submission experience, it should only be a journal of "Synthetic Organic Chemistry". It positions the same with Synlett, Synthetic Communications. I did an organic reaction, which is quite simple. The raw material was more expensive than the product, but the significance of this reaction was not synthesis, but degradation. An article about the same reaction was published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry. This time it was done by using a new material catalyst. It was submitted to Org. Chem. Front, but was not sent for review. I argued with the editor. Unexpectedly, the editor replied. The reason for not sending for review was that the value of reaction synthesis was not high. I can't figure out that my article about the similar reaction was previously published in J. Org. Chem., and someone's articles were even published in Journal of the American Chemical Society or Organic Letters. How did it happen that the synthesis value was not high when submitting to Org. Chem. Front.? The editor told me that the impact factor of this journal was trying to reach 6.0. Therefore, it had strict requirements. I think they limit their own scope in this way. It is estimated that 6.0 will not be easy to catch up. It is hard for journals that limit to organic chemistry to increase IF. Not to mention such journal that only positions in organic synthetic chemistry... ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2018-09-15 22:36:25 My manuscript was submitted in mid-August, and the manuscript number was 000890. The PDF preview after submitting the manuscript shows a booklet, which says that the reviewers are given 10 days to review the paper. One and a half days after submisison, the paper entered Initial assessment and then With Editor. The editor first decides whether to send it to external review according to the Initial assessment. After 2 days, the status became In peer review, so only 20 days from submission to receiving the comments of the first review. Only when both reviewers ranked your originality and novelty to be better than 25% (significant) will acceptance be recommended. If there is a big discrepancy, the editor will invite a third reviewer. After the major revision, the editor waited 9 days before sending it out to peer review, and after 2 days of In peer review, the paper was accepted. The booklet also stated that the goal of OCF is to have the IF to 6.0 or above. In recent years, the number of published manuscripts has been well controlled, basically 340 articles/year. The journal’s standard for novelty is now higher than before. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2023-02-14 17:19:21 Cej and ocf are not comparable, and it is meaningless to compare if across different fields. Which organic journal can achieve a score of 10? There are many problems with the warning list of Zhongxin Institute, the selection process is not rigorous and transparent. Although it claims to consider many risk factors, it does not mean that the journals on the list are necessarily risky, as can be seen from the previously leaked list. It can be confirmed that Zhongxin Institute had already removed ocf from the list shortly after it was leaked last year. However, due to various reasons such as bureaucratic inertia or lack of understanding of the business, a few units' policy makers did not update their warning list in a timely manner or used it without thinking and verifying, which is a tragedy for the unit and its researchers. It can be seen that this colleague is very angry, but are you really angry at the journal? Or at Yang Da? ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2023-02-06 13:10:21 Really, it can't be fake. Fake, it can't be real. When doing scientific research, one should not only focus on achievements, but also strive to make impactful work. Many Nobel Prize-winning works have been published in third-tier journals. Who can say that such work lacks influence?! A fair and just scientific evaluation system must be established by experts, rather than relying on a so-called third-party list to make a blanket judgment. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2023-02-01 09:30:33 For a considerable period of time, OCF was classified as an illegal journal at Yangzhou University. The university does not recognize it. Some people say that the journal catalog of Zhongxin Institute has been updated. However, Yangzhou University will not update it. The journal classification and impact factor at Yangzhou University Library are outdated. The reason given by the library is that the university has not purchased a new database, so they have been following the old one. Therefore, it will take many years for Yangzhou University to use the Zhongxin Institute catalog, and they need to be prepared for OCF to not be recognized for a long time. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2023-01-16 10:26:32 There are always people who don't believe that OCF is included in the warning periodical and question its directory. There are teachers from our school who have submitted to OCF, but now it doesn't count for anything. I will tell everyone the name of our school, just to show that I am speaking the truth. Yangzhou University doesn't recognize it. If you don't believe it, you can go and ask Yangzhou University. In addition, recently Yangzhou University has blacklisted all journals below the second tier, including reviews. Even if you publish an article in Chemical Review, at Yangzhou University, it is considered as zero achievement. So don't just talk about OCF, even Chemical Review is considered a low-quality journal at our Yangzhou University. Yangzhou University will definitely be included in the Double First Class this year, surpassing Tsinghua University in terms of requirements. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2023-01-16 10:21:38 This journal has been included in the blacklist of Zhongxin Institute. Some people say it's a bogus list, but many schools recognize it. Our Yangzhou University recognizes it. Many other provincial universities in Jiangsu also recognize it. Therefore, publishing in OCF is invalid for evaluating job titles, invalid for graduation, and cannot be counted as an achievement at the end of the year. Recently, when calculating achievements, OCF's score is 0. I'm not making empty claims, you can ask friends from Yangzhou University to find out. At Yangzhou University, OCF is considered a bogus journal. In addition, there's CEJ, with an impact factor of 16, which is also not easy to publish in. But because it has entered the blacklist of Zhongxin Institute, it is not counted as a valid publication at Yangzhou University either. This year, several young teachers in our college regretted publishing in OCF and CEJ. In fact, OCF is more embarrassing than CEJ. No matter how high the impact factor of CEJ is, it is still recognized by external funders. What about OCF? Even if it is recognized by funders, it is only recognized within a narrow circle. Funders recognizing it means there are very limited opportunities, very narrow. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2022-12-18 15:17:51 OCF has entered the warning directory, and it's not just some online news. It was issued by our school's Science and Technology Office. We only recognize documents from the Science and Technology Office, as they hold more authority than the county officials. Otherwise, students cannot graduate and young teachers cannot apply for professional titles. It's as if everything is in vain. Not only our school, but many other schools also have similar documents. Furthermore, our school has not lifted this document yet, which means it is still in effect. No one dares to publish OCF. Not only OCF, but CEJ from the Shadow 16 is also included in the warning directory. Luckily, I published CEJ before the document came out, otherwise it wouldn't count. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2022-12-06 19:33:04 To my knowledge, Zhongxin Institute not only considers the impact factor of journals but also pays attention to academic misconduct issues in the journal operation process. For example, unethical authorship, peer review misconduct, and group culture, etc. Zhongxin Institute includes OCF in the warning journal list, and naturally, it has its reasons. OCF is a journal managed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhongxin Institute is also an institution of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Both have the same level of authority. ![]() ![]() |

Reviewed 2022-12-06 19:30:08 OCF is run by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The warning system of the center is also from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Why did the Chinese Academy of Sciences' warning journal include the journals run by the Chinese Academy of Sciences? Does the Chinese Academy of Sciences like to collaborate with each other? Or is it a way to clean up the portal? It is truly thought-provoking. ![]() ![]() |
