The speed of reviewing manuscripts has been significantly improved compared with the past. The processing speed of domestic editors is not satisfactory, but the processing efficiency of foreign experts as the responsible editor is very high, and the comments are pertinent. The speed at which the editor handled the manuscript was the fastest I have ever seen, receiving a rejection email just 7 hours after submission.
The reason for the rejection was very constructive: Journal of Forestry Research receives far more papers than we can publish. Consequently, we often have to turn down many manuscripts that are technically sound but less innovative.
Comparing my article with those of four or five classmates published in the same journal, it is a fact that my article lacks innovation.
