High-Quality Peer Review: An Editor-in-Chief’s Perspective

Dr. Avriel Licciardi, Research Communications Strategist

November 2020

Peer review is an essential component of academic publishing, with researchers playing two critical roles within the process: 1) the author of the manuscript submitted for review, and 2) the reviewer evaluating the quality, validity, and novelty of the submitted research. Given the necessity and importance of peer review in publishing—and the direct impact researchers have on publication outcome—one may wonder: How can I ensure a constructive yet swift review process? How can I increase the quality in my own peer reviews?

An Editor’s Guide to Successful Peer Review

Dr. Jeannette Vasquez-Vivar, Editor-in-Chief of Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, answers these questions and more in a free webinar entitled, An Editor’s Guide to Successful Peer Review. Produced in collaboration with Hindawi, this LetPub webinar provides you a behind-the-scenes view into journal editor expectations and best practices to help you develop and sharpen your own peer review skills.
