Well, it took half a year for the first review in 2018. And then, I was told that it was rejected. Judging from the rejection reasons given by the two reviewers, I feel that they didn’t read it carefully, or their research direction is completely different from mine. And the rejection reasons are also not what paper focuses on. I will not submit to this journal again in the future.

Thanks to this journal, it allowed me to get a grant from Natural Science Foundation of China for Youth, a Natural Science Foundation from a province in China, and a Scientific Research Foundation for the Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars. However, with the gradually high demanding for the level of the journals to publish the work, a journal in Q4 has gradually been far from meeting the requirements... But I always remember NED, when I no longer need papers to support my basic needs, I will submit my latest article to NED again… Hope it will rank to Q3 soon...

The first paper I wrote was the safety and risk analysis section that I submitted. Because it was my first time, I basically checked the status every day during the waiting process and recorded it for reference for future friends. The external review took three months, and after the external review comments came out, I anxiously waited for more than twenty days before receiving the reply for revisions. After making the revisions, I submitted them, and the next day I was accepted at lightning speed and published online in the same month. Although the external review was really long (mainly because I was eagerly anticipating it every day), the efficiency from revision to publication was really high. You can refer to my timeline. I was really hoping to see such a detailed content at first, so I am providing this information for everyone. Hehe. There is no need to be too anxious while waiting. I hope this is helpful!

I published 4 papers in this Journal. It is excellent in structural integrity and thermal-hydraulic topics. The reviewers comments are usually very detailed which enhance the quality of the manuscript. The 1st round review around 3~4 months and decision for the revision submission from the Editor takes at most 1 month. In case of the 2nd review, it takes a shorter period than the 1st round which about 2 months. Overall, I think it is one of the top Journals of nuclear engineering.
