The review process took 8 months, and it was ultimately rejected. There were 3 reviewers, and the initial feedback was quite positive, with one reviewer acknowledging the value of my research and pointing out some minor issues with the experimental design. I believed there were no problems with the experimental design, but due to different disciplinary backgrounds, I failed to adequately explain this to the reviewers. As a result, during the second round of review, 2 of the reviewers had more negative opinions, leading to the rejection of the manuscript.

Overall, it was expected as the content submitted was based on preliminary experimental results.
The only disappointing aspect is the slow speed, as it took two months from submission to review, even after a reminder was sent in between.
