The speed of the first review was very fast, the comments were raised in less than a month. There were 3 reviewers in total (one of the reviewers completed the review within 1 week. One reviewer didn’t return the comments, so one another reviewer was invited). Finally, major revision was required (There were 10 substantive comments raised by the 1st reviewer; The attitude of the 2nd reviewer was positive; only one relatively general question was raised). Two months were given for the revision, and it was not difficult to revise. The revised manuscript was submitted on July 17. During the second round of review, I communicated with customer service and learned that a previous reviewer did not accept the review at first, so the editor invited again, and he finally accepted the review. This reviewer didn’t submit the comments before the deadline, and it was delayed for 10 days. It took one week for the final decision. However, the final decision was good. Although the efficiency of the second round is a bit less than that of the first round, the overall submission experience is still good, and I will submit to this journal again.

The biggest drawback of this journal is that the review process is too slow. Based on my experience and the experiences that my colleagues have had, the paper will not officially enter into the review stage, even at five months following submission. The status will always be “editor assigned.”  After entering the review stage, the review will be completed in about 1–1.5 months. If the paper requires modifications, it will take about five months to restart the review after the revised draft is submitted. Therefore, it is very fast to send a paper to this journal (most journals take 1.5 years). The journal requires that the quality of the manuscript is high and it is not easy to get published. The SCI partition is a three zone, but it seems that the IF has an upward trend, which has exceeded SPE Journal.
